Welcome to the official InvestSG community.

Our mission is to connect investors for better investment outcomes. Every day, we have thousands of people coming to InvestSG to discuss, share and learn about the stock markets. It makes us a conducive community for investors. The conversations that happen on InvestSG reflect the quality exchanges of a community of thousands investors.

As we grow as a community, we still want our users to feel safe and productive when using InvestSG. For that reason, we have developed a set of guidelines titled Community Standards & Etiquette, outlined below. These policies, designed to help provide a quality environment for our users, will help you understand what type of sharing is allowed on InvestSG, and what type of content may be reported to us and removed. Because of the diversity of our community, it is possible that something that may be disagreeable or disturbing to you may not violate our Community Standards & Etiquette.

By using this platform, all users will have to comply with InvestSG’s Terms and Conditions. If you're genuinely looking to advertise on our platform for a fee, please email us at admin@shareinvestor.com .

InvestSG is monitored by moderators who are empowered to remove and edit any posts or comments that do not adhere to our guidelines and to subsequently ban anyone who violates them repeatedly.

Also, our moderators reserve the right to exercise discretion when it comes to editing, removing posts/comments and banning accounts. Moderators' decision will be final and no correspondence will be entertained.

How to help our moderators: either tag our official account @InvestSG in the post or comment, or email us the details at admin@shareinvestor.com . Our moderators will look into the matter and take the necessary actions. That includes permanent banning.

1st Offence: Public Warning
2nd Offence: Ban For 1 month
3rd Offence: Permanent Ban
*special case scenario: Immediate & Permanent Ban. Moderators' discretion takes precedence of the warnings.

Please adhere to the following the Community Standards & Etiquette before posting.

The following guidelines apply to all users:

1. Do not promote your product, business, service or soliciting

   We are very strict on this. We do not allow promotion or soliciting of any sort.

   Our moderators have the right to remove or ban the person, permanently from this platform, if the posts refer to an advertisement or link for a product/brokerage account/service, or that links to a product or service (webinars/training/seminars inclusive), or contains links/contact details to external messaging apps like Telegram, FB groups, Whatsapp, personal blogs or internet sites referring to a product/service/events/community/advertisement. Especially those that are unrelated to stocks.

   If an organization/business that has an account and is under MAS watchlist, banning of account will be exercised.

   Also, if content is ambiguous or harbours intentions of soliciting, our moderators will reserve the right to remove or ban the account.

2. Fake or Inaccurate Information/Trolling

   Spreading of inaccurate or fake information, including but not limited to news, statistics, data or analysis is strictly prohibited. When posting, all information and analysis should be supported with respective sources, such as links, photos or screenshots. Users who see fake information are also to report it to admin IMMEDIATELY. Admin will proceed to assess the situation accordingly. We do not condone such behaviour and accounts will be banned permanently.

   This will include estimates which harbour intents of trolling.

3. Posting & replies

   Posting & replies must be related to financial topics. Do not go out of the topics.
   Discretion will be exercised by InvestSG to remove such posts, comments or replies.
   Repeated offenders will have their accounts banned.

   In order to be understood by most users, please use correct spelling, grammar and avoid slang unless you know the word or phrase will be understood by other users. Do not double post (post the same message twice in one post) or cross post (place the same message across several posts). Do not post anything that is unrelated to finance as this is a financial community. Such posts will be removed at our moderators’ discretion.

4. No personal attacks, hate speech or creating nuisance

   Criticise the ideas, not the people.

   Personal attacks, hate speech or simply creating nuisance will not be tolerated in our community. Users who verbally assault the character or person of other posts will be banned.

   In the case of attacks/fights, we will exercise our rights to impose the offences on the parties involved, including the instigator and those who retaliate in a similar way. If you are being attacked, please report to us immediately and do not retaliate in any way.

5. Use of excessive foul language, offensive, grotesque, racist, sexist, pornographic, sexually offensive, sexually explicit, or objectifying materials in the form of image or text is strictly prohibited.

   Be civil. Refrain from using vulgar or inappropriate language. Language that is sexually offensive is also prohibited in our community.

   The moderators will remove any offensive material. Banning of account will be exercised.

6. Do not spam

   Spamming is prohibited on this platform. Spam posts will be deleted and the users will be dealt with severely. Our moderators have the right to determine what is considered spam and remove it accordingly. Banning of account will be exercised.

7. Do not chastise newbies

   We work towards encouraging respectful behaviour. Users can use the platform to challenge ideas, institutions and practices. Such discussion can promote debate and greater understanding. Sometimes, novice investors may ask what seems to professionals to be “obvious” questions. In such a case, replies to the users should be in the best tone and language possible.

8. Reporting of bad posts, comments or users

   If you find a post or user particularly offensive, spam or under MAS watchlist, please report it to us. Either tag our official account @InvestSG in the post or comment, or email us the details. Our moderators will look into the matter and take the necessary actions. That includes permanent banning.

   Please exercise discretion when reporting posts, as InvestSG’s decision will be final. No correspondence will be entertained.

9. Keep your account and personal information secure

   Do not post any information that is private. This includes personal information such as contact numbers, home address or email address or links to outside groups.

10. Impersonation/acts of mimicry/sarcasm/fake/clone accounts

    Acts of impersonation, mimicry or sarcasm is not allowed in our community. Our admin will have the right to exercise discretion for all situations pertaining to these matters, moderate the content and enforce the rules. Admin decision will be final and can precede the order of offences. Refer to Special Case Scenarios.

    Fake/clone accounts/posting on behalf of banned accounts will be banned immediately.
